This week explores how pattern functions as survival technology when bodies and cultural memory face systematic erasure across multiple geographies. What began as a meditation on algorithmic whiplash between Met Gala glamour and global atrocities has evolved into a deeper consideration of textile intelligence as planetary resistance mechanism.
These images from my Future Ancestors series examine tatreez (Palestinian embroidery) through a quantum craft lens - where traditional pattern-making fuses with computational remixing to create a form of cultural transmission that resists both physical destruction and digital censorship. Rather than cryptifying language to evade algorithms as I did on Instagram, here I can speak directly: What does it mean when we must encode resistance into the very fabric of communication? When words themselves become unsafe, pattern persists. When geography is rewritten, textile memory remains. When archives are destroyed, embodied knowledge continues transmission.

Al Sadu, Bedouin Weaving - nomadic pattern intelligence designed for memory transmission across non-fixed geographies
This pattern language of resistance isn't isolated. From Gaza to Sudan to Congo, similar systems of erasure meet similar technologies of persistence. When media attention selectively amplifies certain crises while rendering others invisible, pattern-based knowledge systems continue transmission regardless. When certain bodies are deemed disposable across different geographies, textile memory maintains alternative cartographies of existence.
